Every once in a while, I think it's important to switch off, let yourself off a few of your usual commitments, and take a break from your daily routine in order to gain a bit of perspective on your passions and remember why it is that you do what you do. I have by no means fallen out of love with Follow Your Sunshine - quite the opposite, I'm enjoying it more than ever, but in the short term I have so many other commitments that I don't feel I'm able to give it (or myself come to mention it!) the time and attention it deserves.
I'm therefore taking a very short break to concentrate on some wedding planning, some career-related things and some exciting blogging-related projects (watch this space!). I'm looking forward to returning with renewed vigour in a week or two to continue my Dubai tales, to tell you about a very special restaurant and to share the story of another exciting 'staycation' which is happening this weekend.
In the meantime, I am continuing with my guest post series - I am so excited about the next few bloggers I have lined up! And of course I will still be chatting away on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook if you fancy joining me there.
I'll leave you with a picture from last night with some friends of ours at Hakkasan, Doha.
I urge every one of you, whether you're in London or Doha, to get yourself to this restaurant at some point. It's a real corker.
See you soon. I'm off for a bit of me-time.
Enjoy your hiatus, Polly! Always prioritize what's important to you first, that's what I've learned! xo
ReplyDeleteThank you lovely Jaime! Wise words, which I'm definitely going to heed :-)

I love your quote at the end! I totally agree -- sometimes you need a break to just recharge and take some time for yourself. I think that that a blogging break can end up making you a better blogger because you get to clear your head and come back recharged and ready to be creative. Can't wait to hear all about your saycation when you get back!
ReplyDeleteI love the quote too! Simple yet motivating. You are so right, I haven't written a word for the blog for almost a week now and I'm already missing it and excited about returning to it. Absence makes the heart grow fonder ;-) Looking forward to writing about the staycation!! :-)
