Weekly Ponderings 18

Friday 15 May 2015

This week I was excited about...

A little 'daycation' with Rich. We slipped away to the other side of the city for a mini day-long holiday and some quality time together away from our usual haunts.

This week I was reminded...

How important a good, wholesome but hearty breakfast is to set you up for the day!

This week I appreciated...

Discovering a brand new, very exciting restaurant.

(More on this in due course)

Having a good old giggle when the Whose Line Is It Anyway boys came to town.

Being given the best bar of chocolate I think I've ever eaten at the end of another 12 hour day in the office.

Quote of the week

This quote comes from the very lovely Sandy from S Marks The Spots who posted it on my Facebook page earlier this week. It came at just the right time when I was having 'one of those days' and it made me smile all day!

I'd love it if one of you could provide a happy, sunny quote for next week's post! If you've got a great one, let me know in the comments below, or on Facebook or Twitter.

Have a great weekend. Wherever you are, I hope the sun is shining!

  1. Hey Polly!!! Just discovered your blog at long last :) What a lovely post and idea. My dad lives in Dubai, I was born in Sharjah and my family love the Middle East so I have spent a lot of time near your neighbourhood! Looking forward to meeting you and hearing all about life in Doha. Lots of love, Andrea xxx

    1. Ahh it sounds like we're going to have a lot to talk about Andrea! most people don't know much about this area of the world so it will be great to speak to someone who knows it well! If you're ever out visiting your dad, you must pop by Doha for a visit, it's only 40 minutes away :-)

  2. It looks like such a lovely week ... I love the idea of a #daycation! I was thinking of having one of those with John this weekend. :) It's nice that you and Rich are spending some quality time together in the run-up to the wedding .. it's going to be such a fun, crazy whirlwind during and afterward, so it'll be so nice to have this time together now! xoxo

    1. You should! I felt completely refreshed afterwards, like I'd actually been away (only lasted about 10 minutes into Sunday morning mind, but that's not the point!). Where would you 'daycation' near you? You're so right about the craziness, each day is more and more mental at the moment and I just can't wait to be lying on a beach with him in Italy when it's all over (obviously can't wait for the day itself too of course...) ;-)

    1. Thanks Lucy! I think the world would be a better place if people took a compulsory daycation every once in a while!
