Weekly Ponderings 23

This week I was excited about...

The start of Ramadan. Knowing how much I love my food, you might be surprised to hear that I enjoy this period of fasting, but there are definitely a few reasons to love it - the shorter working hours, the emphasis on friends and family...and Iftar (which you can read all about here).

This week I was reminded...

About how far the 22 young people I work with have come in a year as we reached the first anniversary of Generation Amazing.

This week I appreciated...

An evening with my friends Rosalyn and Kerrie. We were too busy nattering to take any photos, but we gorged on dirty takeout and watched 27 Dresses. The perfect wind down after a hectic week and a welcome break from wedding planning.

A 'last supper' with Rich before Ramadan.

Some middle of the day and after-work bonding with my team.

Some new chocolately discoveries (some of which were far superior to others).

Quote of the week...

Today marks exactly two weeks until I fly home for our wedding. Brace yourself for a flurry of wedding-related posts! I hope the sun is shining and it's going to be a beautiful weekend for you all xxx

  3. I've seen lots of people from home posting pics/talking about the Cadbury Vegemite chocolate. What did you think of it? I love chocolate and Vegemite individually but not sure they should be combined together. Obviously I can't get it in the UK so probably won't get a chance to try it until my next trip home.

    1. I was at a bit of a disadvantage because I don't really like Vegemite, but I will very grudgingly admit that it was better than I expected! Kind of like salted caramel chocolate but with a very bitter aftertaste! Definitely try it next time you're back and let me know what you think!!

  5. I keep seeing this Cadbury Vegemite Chocolate, not sure if I could handle it. The Grand Hyatt looks incredible! So exciting how close the wedding is, really looking forward to reading about it and all the photos!
