In honour of St. Valentine, here are 6 reasons that I definitely know I'm marrying the right man (I promise that I will keep it short and sweet so that you don't vomit into your cup of tea).
1. He makes me laugh every day
Whether it's by hitting me with a 'hilarious' pun, finding the funny side of a bad situation, or just generally being silly, I have never met anyone who makes me giggle as much as Rich does. Sometimes, I laugh so much that my stomach aches and the tears roll down my cheeks. That's not so fun.
2. He is brutally honest
In the nicest possible way. Usually while making me laugh actually. Take today, when I was trying to be a serious blogger-type by taking lots of photos at a restaurant that I was doing a review on. He motioned towards the fish on ice in front of us and said "that looks like you first thing in the morning". Cheers darlin'. None taken.
3. He keeps the romance alive
By leaving sweet notes around the house or sending cute picture messages to let me know he is thinking of me. He buys brilliant presents, treats me to surprise nights out, and makes me feel special every single day. Awww!
4. We like the same things
People, films, food, music (on the whole), travel destinations, weekend pursuits. Chances are that if he likes it, I do too. This means we enjoy each others' company immensely, because we're usually loving every moment of what we're doing together (late night football match watching aside I would like to add)! It also means that the same things are important to us. Namely the three F's: Family. Friends. Food.
5. He's caring and protective
If I'm ill, he'll run out to the shops for Night Nurse, cook me pasta and tuck me up on the sofa with my laptop and a book. If I'm worried about something, he'll want to talk it through and show me that my concerns are his concerns. Like last week when someone found my email address on my contact page and sent me a particularly nasty email (the first and last time that happens I hope!) - he cared as much as I did. Best of all, he always says to me that it's his job to complement my life, and make it better. And everything he does is testament to that!
6. He knows me better than I know myself
He can sometimes tell me why I'm thinking something before I've even realised myself. He understands all of my complexities, all my loves and passions. He knows me so well that he organised the dream proposal for me in September last year. If you like a bit of romance, you can take a look at the video he put together for the occasion here. Brace yourself for tears (mainly mine at the end).
Rich, thank you for being the perfect man for me and for keeping things exciting every day! I can't wait to be Mrs Byles. x
For those of you that got to the bottom without vomming (congratulations, you're obviously as soppy as I am), I'd love to hear about your other half and why you know they're the right one for you! I love a good love story.
Have a great Valentine's Day everybody!
VOM. Love Randles x
