Weekly Ponderings 7

This week I was excited about...

Meeting my honorary nephew, the very gorgeous Lachie Young. My friend Donna endured a long and difficult labour, ending in a C-Section and I'm so proud of her for being so strong throughout. It was more than worth it for this little bundle of joy and fun that arrived at the end of it all! I'm in love, and not ashamed to admit that I occasionally well up when I look through his photos. Can't wait for my next baby squish soon!

This week I was reminded...

Just how far I've come in the blogosphere as I hit several (very small!) milestones. 150 email subscribers. 100 followers on Bloglovin'. 600 followers on Twitter. 200 followers on Instagram. It's not at all about the numbers for me, but knowing that a few people are following along makes the hard work I put into something which is principally a sideline hobby all worthwhile. I've also just reminded myself that I swore I would never use the word 'blogosphere' and now I have...There's no coming back from this!

This week I appreciated...

  • A weekend of decadence as Rich and I enjoyed our very first 'staycation' in Qatar. We had such a beautiful weekend at the Grand Hyatt that when Saturday afternoon rolled around I wasn't even close to being ready to check out! I think that everybody should try to have a little holiday at home every now and again, I'm a firm believer that it is good for the soul!

Sorry for the fuzzy iphone photo - I couldn't resist putting this one up. I love how relaxed we look!!

  • Meeting fellow Doha-based blogger (and foodie), Rosalyn from Dream Days for lunch at the Japanese restaurant, Megu on The Pearl. We weren't ashamed to pull out our DSLRs and snap away at the beautiful dishes in front of us while discussing our upcoming weddings and exciting future blog plans. I have so much in common with Rosalyn it's unreal and I'm looking forward to getting to know her a lot better in weeks to come.

  • Having a random Tuesday off with Rich as the whole of Qatar shut down (and trainer-ed up) to celebrate Qatar National Sports Day. Being the lazy sods that we are, rather than joining in, Rich and I headed out for a 3 course meal, followed by an afternoon of shopping in Landmark Mall. I did however do my bit by carrying home 10 bags of clothes and cosmetics...the best work-out I've had in a long time!

It was a lovely start to a very exciting Valentine's week, and it's safe to say I'm feeling just a wee bit soppy at the moment!

Quote of the week
